Strawberry basket with cover of plain plaited and curlicued dyed red wood splints on the body, with plain plaited green dyed wood splints on the cover, plain plaited section of basket contains warps that are thicker than wefts, equal thickness in curlicue work on midsection, with double hoop rim and splints wound together to form a stem on the cover.

Purchased by Indian Arts and Crafts Board representatives from Eli Thomas (Saginaw Chippewa, 1898-1990 ) in 1983; part of the IACB Headquarters collection (Department of the Interior, Washington, DC) until 2000 when it was transferred to NMAI.
