Thou, who hast the same feelings, with me a poor child of the forest – I address not in pompous style or stain; but in the true language of the heart. I have heard of your devotion to your dear children & husband – notwithstanding the attention you have given the highest desires of mind after the beauties of Creation, & to sing its praises, as well as of other subjects, which tend to elevate & soften the mind of us poor mortals. & I feel a desire to thank you for setting an example to our sex that both can be accomplished, without detriment to either duties. & my wish is to copy your example in both if I possibly can. With the aid of Our God. – To show that neither language, or nation, can possibly have a different set of morals to be governed by – but those which the Great Creator, himself has ordained – The fulfilling of which, is the great end of our being. – And with many thanks for the perusal of your beautiful work.
